5 Holiday Gifts for the iPhoneographer on Your List

11 Dec 2012

'Tis the season for mistletoe, eggnog, and photos of your family by the Christmas tree! Gone are the days of waiting for your festive photos to be developed – now with the click of a button each special moment is captured and shared to family and friends across the globe. So how better to treat your iPhoneographer this season than with some gifts that will make them smile and take the holiday pictures from shakey and grainey to va-va-voom!

1. Olloclip Lens

The Olloclip is the most highly rated iPhone lens online. This package comes complete with Macro, Fisheye, and Wide-angle lenses as well as lens cleaner. Fans rave that the clarity is not compromised and that even professional photographers have come to rely on these lenses as an alternative when they're on the road without their kit. One word of caution: the clip does compromise the flash, but no serious iPhoneographer is relying on the built in flash anyway.

2. Printstagram

iPhoneographers love their Instagram! Show your appreciation for their work by getting it printed on a calendar or on stickers or on a poster. Printstsagram is low-fi meets high quality.

3. iPhone Obsessed

iPhone Obsessed is the result of designer Dan Marcolina's year of expiramentation with his iPhone camera. "Part inspiration and part how-to... Marcolina takes you through the construction of his images, explaining which apps he used and why." There is something for everyone in this book.

4. iPhone Battery Case

The biggest gripe from any iPhoneographer is that the battery always runs out in the most inopportune times! We have all been there – just when the light is right, the spinning wheel of battery depletion shows up. This iPhone battery case protects your phone from the elements and doubles your battery life. What more could you need?

5. iTunes Gift Card

Last, but not least, if you just can't decide on the right gizmo or gadget for your iPhoneographer, an iTunes gift card is always a safe bet. There are hundreds of photo apps at your finger tips and a gift card of $20 would go a long way! We recommend checking out Diptic and Camera+ (if you haven't already!).

Bonus: Our friends at the Cambridge Art Association are doing a call for submissions for their 'Gram It' Instagram show! Each entry is only $10 and a great way to support a budding iPhoneographer – whether yourself or a friend – this holiday season.
